About Serpentine Falls
Serpentine Falls is a seasonal waterfall on the Serpentine River within Serpentine National Park, about 55 km south-east of Perth in Western Australia. The falls cascade over granite into a large pool surrounded by jarrah forest. It is one of Perth's most popular day-use natural attractions, notable for swimming, bushwalking trails and spring wildflowers within the Darling Scarp.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a forested national park setting with a short sealed walk from the car park to a viewing platform and granite rocks above a large pool at the base of the falls. The waterfall flows strongly in winter and spring and may reduce to a trickle in summer. The area includes picnic lawns, jarrah forest, granite outcrops and marked walk trails such as Kitty's Gorge. Swimming is permitted in the pool when conditions allow.
