About Sea Cliff Bridge
Sea Cliff Bridge is a 665-metre balanced cantilever bridge on Lawrence Hargrave Drive between Coalcliff and Clifton in the City of Wollongong, New South Wales. Opened in 2005, it carries the Grand Pacific Drive coastal route 41 metres above the Tasman Sea, bypassing a rockfall-prone cliff section. It is notable for its offshore curved alignment, pedestrian walkway and panoramic views of the Illawarra escarpment and coastline.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a coastal road bridge with a dedicated separated pedestrian and cycle walkway on the seaward side. The setting is an exposed ocean cliff with views of the Tasman Sea, Illawarra escarpment and coastline. Visitors can walk or cycle the bridge, stop at lookout areas at the northern and southern ends, photograph the curved structure, and drive across as part of the Grand Pacific Drive. There are no shops on the bridge itself.
