History of Sarsi Island
Sarsi Island was formed following the construction of the Bansagar Dam on the Sone River, a major irrigation and hydroelectric project initiated in 1978 and completed in 2006. The reservoir submergence created several small islands, including Sarsi Island, which has subsequently been identified for local tourism development.
