About Samiti Lake
Samiti Lake is a high-altitude glacial lake at about 4,200 metres on the Goecha La trek route in Khangchendzonga National Park, Gyalshing district, Sikkim. Fed by glacial melt from surrounding peaks including Pandim and Kangchenjunga, the turquoise lake lies between Thansing and Goecha La. It serves as a key campsite and viewpoint on the Yuksom to Goecha La trek and is noted for its pristine alpine setting and reflections of snow-covered mountains.
Visitors guide
Visitors reach Samiti Lake only by trekking the multi-day Yuksom to Goecha La trail inside Khangchendzonga National Park. The lake is a turquoise glacial waterbody set in a wide alpine valley surrounded by snow-covered peaks including Pandim and Kangchenjunga massif. There are no built structures at the lake itself except a seasonal trekking campsite nearby. Visitors can view the lake, photograph mountain reflections on clear days, rest at the campsite, and continue toward Goecha La viewpoint.
