About Sajjangarh Biological Park
Sajjangarh Biological Park is a zoological garden located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, situated just beneath the historic Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh Palace). Opened in April 2015, the park spans 36 hectares and houses approximately 60 animals of 21 species including tigers, lions, leopards, ostriches, and marsh crocodiles. It was developed to replace the older Gulab Bagh Zoo and features India's first augmented reality application for wildlife education.
Visitors guide
Visitors can explore a modern zoological reserve with animals housed in enclosures designed to mimic natural habitats rather than traditional cages. The park features a central ring road covering most of its area, with options to tour via golf cart, cycle, or on foot. Visitors can observe diverse wildlife including big cats, bears, deer, and exotic birds while reading informative displays about each species. The park offers scenic views of the surrounding Aravalli hills and proximity to the Monsoon Palace.
