History of Rymill Coonawarra
Rymill Coonawarra was founded in 1974 by Peter Rymill, grandson of South Australian pastoralist and explorer John Rymill. It was among the wineries that expanded Coonawarra's modern wine industry following John Riddoch's establishment of the region in the 1890s. The estate developed vineyards on the narrow terra rossa soil strip that defines Coonawarra and has contributed to the region's reputation for premium Cabernet Sauvignon.
