About Relief Map of Mindanao
The Relief Map of Mindanao is a large-scale topographical map built by Dr. Jose Rizal during his exile in Dapitan from 1892 to 1896. Located in Dapitan City Plaza in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, it depicts the island of Mindanao with accurate terrain features. Constructed with the help of his pupil Francisco Paula de Sanchez, it served as a teaching aid for geography and remains a preserved National Historical Landmark within the Rizal heritage area.
