About Raneh Falls
Raneh Falls is a natural waterfall and canyon on the Ken River in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, about 20 kilometres from Khajuraho. It is noted for a 5-kilometre-long, 30-metre-deep canyon of crystalline granite displaying five colours — pink, red, green, grey and white — formed by volcanic activity. The seasonal falls are active during monsoon, creating cascades over the gorge, and the site lies adjacent to the Ken Gharial Sanctuary.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a deep granite canyon with multi-coloured rock walls carved by the Ken River and a seasonal waterfall that flows during and after the monsoon. In peak season, water cascades over the gorge into pools below, while in dry months the exposed canyon and rock formations are visible. The site has fenced viewing platforms and walkways overlooking the gorge, surrounded by forest of the Ken Gharial Sanctuary. Sightseeing and photography are the main activities.

History of Raneh Falls
The canyon is of geological significance, formed by crystalline granite shaped by volcanic activity and erosion by the Ken River over time, exposing igneous rock in distinct colours. The Ken River valley has long been part of the Bundelkhand region's natural landscape.
