History of Ramanadhi Dam
Ramanadhi Dam was constructed across the Ramanadhi River, a tributary of the Tamirabarani River, by the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Department (Public Works Department) to provide irrigation and drinking water supply to villages in Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts. The project was developed in the early 2000s and commissioned to harness flows from the Western Ghats for agricultural use in the region.
