About Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery
The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG) is Australia's largest regional museum, located in Launceston, northern Tasmania. Operating across two sites at Royal Park and Inveresk, it combines art, natural sciences, history and Tasmanian heritage collections. Founded in 1891 and named for Queen Victoria, it is notable for its extensive Tasmanian art, colonial history, natural history specimens and redeveloped railway workshop buildings.
