About Polem Beach
Polem Beach is the southernmost beach in Goa, located in Canacona taluka near the Karnataka border. It features a secluded 700-meter crescent-shaped stretch of golden sand flanked by rocky outcrops and palm trees. Known for its tranquility and lack of commercialization, it offers a glimpse of traditional Goan coastal life with active fishing communities. The beach is noted for dolphin sightings, white-bellied fish eagles, and calm waters suitable for swimming.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a quiet, pristine environment largely devoid of mass tourism infrastructure. The beach is lined with casuarina and palm trees, offering natural shade. Local fishermen are frequently seen mending nets or operating traditional boats. A few basic seasonal shacks serve fresh seafood and refreshments. Wildlife enthusiasts may spot dolphins and sea eagles directly from the shore. Swimming is generally safe due to the protected bay, though lifeguard services are minimal or absent.
