After closure, the site was preserved as a park to interpret the industrial heritage of Melbourne's west and now houses the Living Museum of the West in the remaining heritage buildings.
Culture & Context
Hosts the Living Museum of the West (Melbourne's Living Museum of the West), a community museum documenting the history, industry, migration and environment of Melbourne's western region. The park serves as a community recreational and cultural space and preserves the industrial heritage of the Maribyrnong River corridor.
