About Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary
The Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary is a protected forest reserve in Canapnapan, Corella, Bohol, managed by the Philippine Tarsier Foundation. Established to conserve the endangered Philippine tarsier (Carlito syrichta), one of the world's smallest primates, it encompasses 8.4 hectares of semi-wild habitat where tarsiers roam freely. The sanctuary serves as a research, conservation and education center, allowing visitors to observe tarsiers in natural conditions while supporting habitat protection.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a guided walk along shaded forest trails within a fenced natural habitat where Philippine tarsiers are observed clinging to branches or sleeping during the day. The setting is a quiet secondary forest with viewing areas managed by local guides who locate tarsiers for observation. The visit includes a small visitor centre with exhibits on tarsier biology and conservation, and a short educational briefing before entering the habitat area.
