About Perry Lakes Reserve
Perry Lakes Reserve is a large public park and wetland reserve in Floreat within the Town of Cambridge, about 7 kilometres west of Perth city centre. Centred on two seasonal freshwater lakes, East Perry Lake and West Perry Lake, it forms part of the Bold Park environmental corridor. Notable for birdwatching, walking trails and community recreation, the reserve occupies the former site of the 1962 Commonwealth Games Perry Lakes Stadium and retains significant natural and recreational value.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect two shallow seasonal lakes surrounded by open parkland, woodlands and reeds, linked by a 3.5 km shared walking and cycling loop. The reserve offers birdwatching hides and lake viewpoints, grassed picnic areas, a large playground, skate park and barbecue facilities. Paths are mostly flat and paved around the lakes with unsealed nature trails nearby. The setting is tranquil and natural, adjacent to Bold Park bushland, suitable for walking, jogging, cycling, photography and family picnics.
