About Palm Springs
Palm Springs is a permanent desert oasis and natural spring located southwest of Halls Creek in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Surrounded by Livistona palms and fed by a clear spring, it forms a small swimming hole in an otherwise arid landscape. The site lies off the Great Northern Highway via Spring Creek Track and is valued as a scenic rest stop, swimming spot and natural refuge on the edge of the Tanami Desert.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a small, spring-fed pool fringed by Livistona palms set in arid, rocky desert country southwest of Halls Creek. The site is accessed via an unsealed 4WD track off the Great Northern Highway. There is a natural swimming hole with clear water, sandy and rocky surrounds, and shady palm grove. It is a remote, undeveloped natural area for short walks, photography, birdwatching, picnicking and swimming, with no built structures beyond informal parking and track access.
