About Paladhara Panchadhara
Paladhara Panchadhara are two perennial sacred streams located about 4 km from the Srisailam Temple in the Nallamala forest of Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh. Named for the legend that Adi Shankaracharya created them, Paladhara flows from the forehead of the deity and Panchadhara from five sacred sources. Set amid dense forest and rocky terrain with stepped bathing ghats, the site is visited for ritual bathing and nature experience before visiting the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a forested valley setting inside the Srisailam Tiger Reserve reached by a downhill flight of stone steps (around 400-500 steps) through dense Nallamala forest. Two clear perennial streams flow into small bathing kunds and channels with rocky surroundings and simple ghats. Pilgrims take a ritual dip, while other visitors enjoy the forest scenery, sound of flowing water, and tranquil natural environment. Basic facilities are available at the top and near the streams.
