About Pa Sak Floating Railway
The Pa Sak Floating Railway is a scenic section of railway crossing the Pa Sak Jolasid Reservoir in Khok Salung, Phatthana Nikhom District, Lopburi Province. When reservoir water levels are high, the tracks appear to float on the water, creating a distinctive photographic viewpoint. The line is part of the State Railway of Thailand's northeastern route and is best known for seasonal excursion trains from Bangkok that allow visitors to experience the water-level crossing and reservoir landscape.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect an open reservoir landscape with a long railway viaduct and embankment crossing the water. During high-water season the tracks appear to float, offering wide views of the Pa Sak Jolasid Reservoir surrounded by low hills. There are roadside viewpoints and embankment areas for photography and watching trains pass. The site is outdoors with no enclosed buildings; the main experience is sightseeing, photography, and viewing the seasonal excursion train crossing the water.

History of Pa Sak Floating Railway
The floating section is part of the railway realigned for the Pa Sak Jolasid Dam project. The dam was initiated under the royal initiative of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) to address flooding and water management in the Pa Sak River basin, constructed between 1994 and 1999. The original railway alignment was relocated onto a new embankment and viaduct across the reservoir, creating the present floating appearance when water levels rise.
