About Old Wilpena Station
Old Wilpena Station is a preserved 19th-century pastoral station within Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park in South Australia, about 45 km north of Hawker. Established in 1851, it was one of the earliest and most successful sheep stations in the Flinders Ranges. The site retains the original homestead, woolshed, outbuildings and pastoral artefacts, offering insight into early colonial pastoral life and frontier settlement in arid Australia.
