History of Objectifs
Founded in 2003 by Emmeline Yong and Quah Sy Ren as a non-profit centre for photography and film. Relocated in June 2015 to its current premises at 155 Middle Road, a conserved heritage building that formerly housed part of the Catholic High School and later the Singapore Chinese Girls' School annex, adaptively reused as an arts centre.
Culture & Context
Singapore's only dedicated centre for photography and film, serving as a platform for emerging and established photographers and filmmakers to exhibit, learn and exchange. It plays a significant role in fostering visual literacy, supporting lens-based practices and building community engagement with contemporary image-making in Singapore.
