About Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls)
Nohsngithiang Falls, also known as Seven Sisters Falls, is a seven-segmented waterfall located near Mawsmai village in Sohra (Cherrapunji), East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya. Falling about 315 metres over limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills, it is one of India's tallest waterfalls. The falls are seasonal, flowing strongly during the monsoon and often drying in winter, and are viewed from a designated viewpoint across the valley.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a broad panoramic view of seven distinct streams plunging side-by-side over limestone cliffs into the plains below. The falls are viewed from a designated viewpoint across a valley, not from the base, with surrounding lush green hills and forested landscape. During monsoon the streams are full and wide, while in dry months flow reduces significantly. The site offers open viewing platforms, photography points, and nearby small shops, with mist and clouds often affecting visibility.
