History of Netarhat Pine Forest
The pine plantation at Netarhat is believed to have been established during the British colonial period when Netarhat was developed as a hill station and for the establishment of Netarhat Residential School. The introduced pine species created an unusual coniferous landscape on the Chotanagpur Plateau that has since been maintained as a scenic attraction.
