National Stadium

The National Stadium is Singapore's flagship 55,000-capacity stadium located at the Singapore Sports Hub in Kallang. Opened in 2014 to replace the former National Stadium (1973-2007), it features the world's largest retractable domed roof and configurable seating. It hosts international football, rugby, athletics, cricket, National Day Parades and major concerts, serving as the centrepiece of the waterfront Sports Hub precinct.

Visitors can expect a large modern waterfront stadium with a distinctive domed retractable roof, tiered seating bowl, and surrounding Sports Hub precinct with promenade, plaza and Kallang Basin views. Access to the bowl is during ticketed sports events, concerts and National Day celebrations, or via guided venue tours on non-event days. The precinct includes retail, dining, museum and open public spaces for leisure and photography.

The original National Stadium opened in 1973 and closed in 2007 before demolition. The current National Stadium was built as part of the Singapore Sports Hub project and officially opened on 30 June 2014. It hosted the 2015 Southeast Asian Games opening and closing ceremonies and has since hosted National Day Parades, international football, rugby, athletics and major concerts.

As Singapore's national stadium, it is the principal venue for national sporting fixtures, National Day Parades and large-scale international entertainment events, serving as a central gathering place for sport and community celebrations in Kallang.
