About Namadgi Visitor Centre
Namadgi Visitor Centre is the main gateway to Namadgi National Park, located on Naas Road at Tharwa on the southern edge of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. It serves as the park's primary information and interpretation hub for the national park that covers about 46% of the ACT. The centre features interactive exhibitions on natural and Aboriginal heritage, a theatre, and park information to help visitors plan walks and understand the region's landscapes and biodiversity.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a modern, low-rise visitor centre set in bushland at the northern edge of Namadgi National Park. Inside are interactive exhibitions on the park's flora, fauna, geology and Aboriginal heritage, a large 3D terrain model, and a theatre screening park films. Staff provide maps, track conditions and trip planning advice. Outside are picnic tables, barbecue facilities, lawns and short walks with views to the Brindabella Ranges. The centre is the starting point for exploring longer bushwalks and cultural sites in the park.
