About Mutonia Sculpture Park
Mutonia Sculpture Park is an open-air sculpture park on the Oodnadatta Track at Alberrie Creek in South Australia's Far North. Created by artist Robin Cooke on Alberrie Creek Station, it displays large-scale sculptures made from salvaged machinery, scrap metal and aircraft parts. Set in arid desert landscape, it is a well-known roadside stop for travellers exploring the Oodnadatta Track and Lake Eyre region.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect an open desert site beside the Oodnadatta Track with numerous large, whimsical sculptures constructed from recycled materials scattered across a flat, arid plain. The park is unfenced and self-guided, with sculptures including aircraft fuselages, mechanical figures and assemblages. There are no buildings or formal galleries; the setting is remote outback station country with red earth, sparse vegetation and wide horizons.
