About Muktagiri Jain Temples
Muktagiri Jain Temples is a complex of 52 Digambar Jain temples located on the Muktagiri hills near Thapoda village in Bhainsdehi tehsil, Betul district, Madhya Pradesh, on the border with Maharashtra. Set in the forested Satpura Range around a waterfall and stream, the site is revered as a Siddha Kshetra. The temples, housing idols of Jain Tirthankaras, are built in traditional style and attract pilgrims and tourists for religious, architectural and natural scenic value.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a hillside complex of 52 white marble and stone Jain temples spread across two hillocks along a forested valley with a seasonal waterfall and stream. The temples are connected by stone steps and pathways through dense Satpura forest. Inside, visitors see idols of Jain Tirthankaras, domed shrines and carved pillars. The lower area has dharamshalas and bhojanalaya, while upper temples require climbing steps and offer valley views. The environment is quiet and pilgrimage-focused.
