About Mirima National Park
Mirima National Park, also known as Hidden Valley National Park, is a 2,068-hectare reserve adjoining the town of Kununurra in the East Kimberley, Western Australia. It protects striking sandstone ranges, gorges and weathered rock formations often compared to the Bungle Bungles. Managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, it offers short walking trails, lookouts and cultural significance to the Miriwoong people.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a compact, accessible park directly on the edge of Kununurra with dramatic sandstone cliffs, domes, gorges and spinifex-covered valleys. Four marked walking trails of varying length lead through the rock formations to lookouts with views over the town, Ord Valley and surrounding ranges. The landscape is arid with boab trees and seasonal wildflowers. Facilities are basic and focused on day-use bushwalking, sightseeing and photography.
