About Minnehaha Falls
Minnehaha Falls is a small cascade waterfall on Yosemite Creek in North Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, within Blue Mountains National Park. Fed by Yosemite Creek, it drops about 10 metres into a shallow sandstone-fringed swimming hole surrounded by open eucalypt forest. Accessed via a short bush track from Minnehaha Road, it is known as a local swimming and picnic spot and for its relatively easy walk close to Katoomba township.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a short bushwalk through open eucalypt forest to a sandstone ledge waterfall dropping into a shallow natural pool. The setting is enclosed by rock shelves and native bush with a small sandy beach area at the base. Visitors can walk the formed track, view the cascade, swim or wade in the pool when conditions allow, photograph the falls, and relax on the rocks. There are no built facilities at the falls itself.
