About Miners Park Pine Creek
Miners Park is an open-air heritage park in the centre of Pine Creek, about 90 kilometres north of Katherine in the Northern Territory. Established to preserve relics from the Pine Creek goldfield, it displays historic mining machinery, steam engines and equipment from the 1870s gold rush. Located on Main Terrace, the park offers a free, accessible introduction to the town's mining history and serves as a rest stop for travellers on the Stuart Highway.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a small, open, grassy public park in central Pine Creek displaying large historic gold-mining machinery, stamper batteries, steam engines and mining relics with interpretive signage. The setting is flat and open with shade shelters, picnic tables and lawn areas, surrounded by the town's main street and heritage buildings. It is an informal, self-guided outdoor exhibit where visitors can walk among the displays, read about the goldfield history and take photographs.
