Mimi Aboriginal Arts and Crafts

Mimi Aboriginal Arts and Crafts is an Aboriginal-owned art gallery and retail store in central Katherine, Northern Territory, on Katherine Terrace. It specialises in authentic Aboriginal artworks, including paintings, didgeridoos, carvings, weavings and souvenirs sourced from artists across the Katherine region and Arnhem Land. Established to support local Indigenous artists, the gallery is noted for its extensive collection and cultural authenticity, serving as a key visitor stop for those seeking genuine Top End Aboriginal art.

Visitors can expect a compact, air-conditioned gallery and shop in Katherine town centre displaying a wide range of authentic Aboriginal art and craft. The interior features wall-hung dot paintings and bark paintings, didgeridoos, carved wooden animals, woven baskets, jewellery and souvenirs arranged for browsing and purchase. Staff can explain the origin, artist and story behind works. The setting is a commercial street-front premises, not a museum, focused on retail viewing and cultural learning.
