About Maneri Dam
Maneri Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Bhagirathi River at Maneri, about 8 km north of Uttarkashi in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. Built as part of the Maneri Bhali Hydroelectric Project Stage-I and commissioned in 1984, it diverts river water through an 8.6 km tunnel to the Tiloth Power Plant. The dam creates a small reservoir set amid Himalayan hills and is noted for its engineering, scenic river views and location on the route to Gangotri.
