About Mandalpatti Viewpoint
Mandalpatti Viewpoint is a hilltop viewpoint in the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary in Kodagu district, Karnataka, about 18 km from Madikeri. Situated at around 1,230 metres elevation in the Western Ghats, it offers panoramic views of mist-covered valleys, rolling hills and dense forests. Accessible only by 4x4 jeeps via a rough forest road, it is known for its sunrise and sunset vistas, seasonal mist and unspoiled natural landscape within a protected reserve forest area.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a hilltop open viewpoint reached after a bumpy 4x4 jeep ride through forest and unpaved track from the base camp. At the top, there is an open grassy hilltop with 360-degree views of the Western Ghats, valleys and shola forests, often covered in mist. There are no permanent structures except a small viewpoint area and railings. Visitors can walk around the hilltop, take photographs, and enjoy sunrise or sunset views. Facilities are minimal and the area is exposed to wind and weather.
