Culture & Context
The beach is closely associated with the living stone-sculpture tradition of Mamallapuram and the adjacent Pallava monuments. The area is a venue for cultural tourism and hosts the annual Mamallapuram Dance Festival organized by Tamil Nadu Tourism, featuring classical Indian dance performances near the Shore Temple.
