Made in Penang Interactive Museum

Made in Penang Interactive Museum is an interactive 3D trick-art and cultural museum located on Pengkalan Weld in George Town, Penang, within Timur Laut District. Housed in a heritage shophouse, it features life-sized dioramas, murals and installations depicting Penang's history, traditions and daily life. Notable for its immersive photo-friendly exhibits, the museum allows visitors to pose with optical illusions and learn about local heritage in an engaging, family-friendly setting.

Visitors can expect a two-storey heritage building filled with 3D trick-art paintings, life-sized dioramas and interactive installations depicting Penang's cultural heritage, street scenes, traditional trades and festivals. The interior is designed for immersive photography where visitors can pose as part of the artwork. Exhibits are colorful, air-conditioned and arranged as walk-through zones with explanatory captions, allowing self-guided exploration at a leisurely pace.

Opened in 2013 in a restored heritage shophouse on Pengkalan Weld, the museum was created to showcase Penang's history and multicultural heritage through interactive art and dioramas, complementing George Town's UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

The museum presents Penang's diverse cultural traditions including Chinese, Malay and Indian heritage, local festivals, traditional occupations, cuisine and street life through immersive exhibits designed to educate visitors about the state's living heritage.
