Established on December 23, 1973, by Dr. Prakash Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte under the guidance of Baba Amte, Lok Biradari Prakalp was created to provide healthcare, education, and livelihood support to the Madia Gond tribals in one of India's most remote regions. The project began when modern medicine and healthcare were unknown in the area, and has since evolved into a comprehensive social service institution.
Culture & Context
The project represents a significant model of tribal development and cultural preservation, working directly with the Madia Gond community to provide education while respecting indigenous traditions. It serves as a bridge between traditional tribal life and modern healthcare and education systems, empowering the local population through sustainable development initiatives.
