About La Perouse Museum
The La Perouse Museum is a history museum housed in the heritage-listed 1881-1882 Cable Station at La Perouse in southeastern Sydney, New South Wales. Located within Kamay Botany Bay National Park on the northern headland of Botany Bay, it interprets the 1788 French expedition of Comte de Lapérouse, the trans-Tasman submarine telegraph cable, and the Aboriginal heritage of the Bidjigal and Gadigal peoples. It displays navigational instruments, maps, and cultural artefacts.
