About Koala Hospital
The Koala Hospital is a licensed wildlife hospital and rehabilitation centre located in Macquarie Nature Reserve on Lord Street, Port Macquarie, New South Wales. Established in 1973, it was the world's first hospital dedicated solely to koalas. Set around the historic Roto House (1890-1891), it treats, rehabilitates and releases sick and injured koalas, and provides public education through guided tours, viewing yards and informative displays about koala conservation.
