About Koala Conservation Reserve
The Koala Conservation Reserve is a dedicated wildlife reserve on Phillip Island in Bass Coast, Victoria, managed by Phillip Island Nature Parks. It protects a resident koala population within natural eucalypt woodland and provides close viewing via elevated boardwalks. The reserve features two treetop boardwalks, woodland walking trails and a visitor centre focused on koala ecology, conservation and habitat research. It is notable for undisturbed koala observation in a natural setting.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a natural bushland setting with elevated timber boardwalks winding through eucalypt woodland where koalas can be observed resting and feeding in the trees at eye level. Two boardwalks offer treetop viewing, while ground-level woodland trails pass through wetlands and forest with opportunities to see wallabies, echidnas and birdlife. A visitor centre provides interpretive displays about koala biology and conservation, with a gift shop and picnic area surrounded by native vegetation.
