About Kafni Glacier
Kafni Glacier is a mountain glacier located in the upper reaches of the Kumaon Himalayas in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of approximately 3,860 meters, it is the source of the Kafni River, a tributary of the Pindar River. The glacier offers panoramic views of peaks such as Nanda Kot and Nanda Bhanar and is accessible via a moderate to difficult trek starting from Loharkhet.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a challenging trek through dense forests, lush meadows, and rugged mountain terrain. The trail leads to the Zero Point of the glacier, where visitors can view the ice field and surrounding snow-capped peaks.
