About Jayamangali Blackbuck Conservation Reserve
Jayamangali Blackbuck Conservation Reserve is a protected grassland reserve located at Maidanahalli in Madhugiri Taluk, Tumakuru District, Karnataka. The open grassland plain, interspersed with eucalyptus and acacia, supports a significant population of blackbucks along with other fauna and birds.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect an open, flat grassland landscape with scattered trees and watchtowers for observation. The main attraction is sighting herds of blackbucks grazing in the plains, especially during early morning and late afternoon. Birdwatching is also possible with species like peafowl and partridges. There are unpaved tracks for walking or slow driving, a forest outpost, and minimal visitor infrastructure in a quiet, natural setting.
