About Island Rock and Natural Bridge
Island Rock and Natural Bridge are two iconic coastal rock formations located south of Kalbarri in Kalbarri National Park, Western Australia, within the Shire of Northampton. Island Rock is an isolated sea stack, while Natural Bridge is a natural limestone arch over the ocean. Formed by erosion of ancient Tumblagooda Sandstone, they are accessed via sealed lookouts along the coastal cliffs and are noted for dramatic ocean views and photography.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect two dramatic coastal lookouts along sealed walkways and fenced viewing platforms overlooking the Indian Ocean. Island Rock appears as a solitary sea stack separated from the mainland cliffs, while Natural Bridge forms a natural arch over the water. The setting is exposed coastal cliffs with strong winds, turquoise water, and rugged sandstone. There is no beach access or climbing onto the formations; viewing is from designated lookouts with interpretive signage, car parks and photo opportunities.
