About HMAS Whyalla and Maritime Museum
HMAS Whyalla and Maritime Museum in Whyalla, South Australia, preserves HMAS Whyalla (J153), the first ship built at the Whyalla Shipyards and a Royal Australian Navy Bathurst-class corvette that served in World War II. Located on Lincoln Highway about two kilometres inland from Spencer Gulf, the landlocked vessel is the centrepiece of a museum documenting Whyalla's shipbuilding, steelworks and maritime history through artefacts, photographs and shipyard memorabilia.
