History of Ham Rong Mountain
Ham Rong Mountain is named for its dragon-jaw-shaped rock formation linked to a local legend about a dragon. The mountain and its park area were developed as a landscaped tourist site in the late 1990s to showcase the natural landscape and flora of the Hoang Lien Son range near Sapa.
Culture & Context
The site reflects local folklore about the dragon and serves as a venue to present the culture of ethnic groups in the Sapa area through garden design, small exhibitions and occasional traditional music and dance performances for visitors.
