History of Gurdwara Likhansar Sahib
Gurdwara Likhansar Sahib marks the place where Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed at Talwandi Sabo (Damdama Sahib) in 1705-1706 after leaving Anandpur Sahib. Here, Guru Ji dictated the complete recension of the Guru Granth Sahib to Bhai Mani Singh, which included the hymns of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The name Likhansar derives from 'likhan' meaning writing. The site is thus associated with the compilation and transcription of the Sikh scripture.
