History of Gurdwara Kaulsar Sahib
Kaulsar Sarovar was excavated in 1627 under the supervision of Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Sikh Guru. The gurdwara commemorates Mata Kaulan, daughter of Qazi Rustam Khan of Lahore, who became a devout disciple of Guru Hargobind Sahib and lived near this site. The sarovar and shrine were later developed and maintained as part of the Harmandir Sahib complex.
