History of Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib
Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib commemorates the visit of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. Tradition holds that the Guru stayed at this site where a brick kiln (Bhatta) was operated by a devotee. The kiln owner served the Guru and his followers, and the place was later developed into a gurdwara to mark the event. It is part of the historic Sikh circuit in the Rupnagar-Anandpur Sahib region.
Culture & Context
The gurdwara is an important Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage, reflecting Sikh traditions of seva (service), langar and community prayer. It serves as a religious and community gathering centre for devotees, especially those travelling to Anandpur Sahib, and hosts congregations on Gurpurabs and other Sikh festivals.
