History of Gurdwara Ber Sahib
Gurdwara Ber Sahib marks the site where Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, lived for over 14 years (1485-1499) while working as a storekeeper for Nawab Daulat Khan Lodhi. Tradition holds that he meditated under a Ber tree here and attained enlightenment after disappearing for three days while bathing in the Kali Bein rivulet, emerging with the revelation of Ik Onkar. The present structure was developed and renovated over time, with major development by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
