About Gulaba Snow Point
Gulaba Snow Point is a high-altitude roadside stop on the Manali-Leh Highway in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. Located approximately 20 to 27 km from Manali at an altitude of roughly 2,800 to 3,100 meters, it serves as the nearest accessible snow point when Rohtang Pass is closed during winter. The site functions as a permit checkpoint for vehicles heading to Rohtang and offers seasonal snow activities, mountain views of the Pir Panjal range, and serves as the base camp for the Bhrigu Lake trek.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a roadside mountain stop rather than a developed resort. During winter months (December to March), the area features natural snow cover where local operators provide informal skiing, sledging, and snow scooter activities. Basic facilities include roadside parking, seasonal chai stalls, mobile toilet units, and rental shops for snow gear. In summer, the snow melts to reveal green meadows and clear views of the Beas River valley and Pir Panjal peaks. The site is primarily a short stop lasting 30 minutes to an hour unless engaging in specific snow activities or trekking.
