About Gujarat Science City
Gujarat Science City is a large science education and entertainment centre located at Hebatpur in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Developed by the Government of Gujarat through Gujarat Council of Science City, it was inaugurated in 2002 to promote scientific temper. Spread over 107 hectares, it features galleries on space, energy, life science, robotics, an aquatic gallery, nature park and interactive exhibits.

Visitors can explore a sprawling campus with multiple themed pavilions including Hall of Space and Science, Hall of Energy, Planet Earth, Life Science Park, Nature Park, Aquatic Gallery, Robotics Gallery and Amphitheatre. Expect interactive science exhibits, 3D and IMAX shows, aquarium tunnels, robotic demonstrations, outdoor energy and nature exhibits, musical fountain, thrill rides and educational displays spread across indoor galleries and landscaped outdoor areas.

History of Gujarat Science City
Initiated by the Government of Gujarat in 1999 and developed by Gujarat Council of Science City (GCSC) under the Department of Science and Technology, Gujarat Science City was inaugurated in 2002. It was established to popularize science, promote scientific temper and provide hands-on science education, later expanded with major additions like Aquatic Gallery (2021) and Robotics Gallery.
Culture & Context
Serves as a major educational and recreational landmark in Gujarat promoting scientific awareness among students and families. It hosts science exhibitions, educational programs and awareness activities and is a prominent destination for school excursions and science tourism in Ahmedabad.
