About Govind Nagar Beach
Govind Nagar Beach is a long sandy beach on the eastern coast of Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, located near Govind Nagar village. Known for its white sand, clear turquoise water and sunrise views, it stretches for several kilometres and is lined with palm trees. The beach is popular for swimming, leisurely walks and photography, and serves as a quieter alternative to Radhanagar Beach while remaining close to the island's main jetty and accommodations.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a long, wide stretch of white sandy shoreline with clear shallow water and palm-fringed coast on the eastern side of Swaraj Dweep. The beach offers calm waters suitable for swimming and wading during favorable conditions, open areas for walking and sunbathing, and unobstructed sunrise views over the sea. The surroundings are relatively developed with nearby resorts, guesthouses and small eateries, but the beach itself remains less crowded than Radhanagar Beach. Basic facilities are available near access points.
