About Golpata Forest
Golpata Forest is a small mangrove forest located on the banks of the Ichamati River at Taki in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, near the India-Bangladesh border. Known locally as Mini Sundarban, it is dominated by Golpata (Nypa fruticans) palm trees. The forest is accessed by boat and features narrow waterways, dense mangrove vegetation and a watchtower offering river and border views, making it a popular day-trip ecotourism spot from Kolkata.
